Years of Heritage
Nestled in Angono, Rizal — the Art Capital of the Philippines — Balaw Balaw has welcomed travelers, artists, and families around its long narra tables since 1983. What began as a family kitchen passing down heirloom recipes has grown into a heritage house of lutong bayan, hand-painted higantes, carved masks, and folk paintings hung on every wall.
Every plate is prepared the way our lola taught us — slowly, over wood fire, with respect for the land and the sea. Every corner of the house tells a story of our town and its artists.
Heirloom recipes cooked over wood fire, with produce from local farms and rivers.
Wander among paintings, carved masks and higantes by the artists of Angono.
Bamboo, capiz, and narra wood surround you in a warm, hand-built setting.
Long tables, boodle fights, and lolo-approved portions for every generation.
Weddings, birthdays and cultural gatherings hosted with heritage hospitality.
The kare-kare tastes like my lola's kitchen. Walking through the gallery afterwards felt like being welcomed into a family home.

An unforgettable evening — folk art on every wall, banana leaves on the table, and the warmest hospitality in Rizal.

Balaw Balaw is our town's living room. Every celebration in my life has passed through those narra tables.
